How does Motive work?

Motive apps have two components: the client app with the Motive SDK and the Motive server that stores and distributes Motive Scripts and associated data.

In Motive, the client app does most of the work. Apps periodically sync with the server (this sync period is configurable by you: by default Motive apps sync every time they boot) and then run the Scripts and content delivered by the server locally. This means that for the most part, Motive apps aren’t dependent on the Motive server at runtime, delivering extremely responsive behavior even when the device has no connection to the internet.

The following sections describe the features and functionality of the Motive Unity SDK.
