Locative Audio

Description

Location-based surround sound. Places an audio source at a Location. The sound always play when a user is in range.

Parameters

  • Locations

One or more Locations where the audio can be heard.

  • Audio

The audio file to be played when a user is within range of the Locations.

  • Distance Range

The Min/Max range from a Location that a user must be within in order to hear the Audio.

  • Volume Range (Advanced)

If set, this defines the volume of the Audio varies with the distance to the Location. By default this is 0-1. This means when a user is out of range, the volume is 0 and when a user is on the exact Location, the volume is 1 (max). For example, using the default values, if the Distance range is 0-20 meters, when the user is 0 meters from the Location, the volume will be 1 (max). When the user is over 20 meters away, the volume will be 0. When the user is 10 meters away, the volume will be 0.5 (50%).

  • Inner Fade Settings (Advanced)

Fade behavior at the inner edge of the distance range.

  • Fade In Offset

When to start fading in relative to any previous audio content. If not set, this will use the value for Fade In Duration.

  • Fade In Duration

Defines how long the Fade In will last.

  • Fade Out Duration

Defines how long the Fade Out will last.

  • Outer Fade Settings (Advanced)

Fade behavior at the outer edge of the distance range.

  • Fade In Offset

When to start fading in relative to any previous audio content. If not set, this will use the value for Fade In Duration.

  • Fade In Duration

Defines how long the Fade In will last.

  • Fade Out Duration

Defines how long the Fade Out will last.

  • Attenuation (Advanced)

The type of attenuation for the Audio.

  • 3D

If checked, the sound is a 3D binaural sound. Otherwise the volume simply varies by distance and does not pay attention to heading.

  • Show On Map

Displays the radius of the Distance Range around the Locations where the Audio can be heard.
